Maritime knowledge as an experience

On a barrrier- free space of 500 square metres,  the SPICARIUM, an authentic, disused  warehouse, hosts an interactive exhibition about shipbuilding, shipping, marine bionics and yacht design.

Over two floors, the history of the Vegesack Harbour and the former Lange-Werft, as well as the development of shipbuilding come to life at many interactive stations, assisted by modern media technology. How does a ship swim when it is made of iron? Why was the Vegesack Harbour so important for city of Bremen? And what caused the wave of  emigration in 1848?Travel to the 19th century and „dive“ through a bank of fog into another world.
How to design a yacht? Which renewables  provide an eco- friendly  drive? On the top floor of the SPICARIUM, perspectives for the shipbuilding and seafaring future are shown.
